Things to do & see in Hermanus

The picturesque town of Hermanus lies between the Kleinrivierberge and the sea and stretches for six kilometers along the north shore of Walker Bay.

Celebrated for its coastal beauty, wild flowers, angling, yachting and fine beaches, Hermanus is one of the premier holiday resorts of South Africa.

The village of Hermanus, had its beginning in 1855 when the fishing village was named Hermanuspietersfontein after Hermanus Pieters, a local teacher-shepherd. The abbreviated form was adopted at the time when it became a municipality in 1894.

There is something for everyone in Hermanus - whether you want to just laze on a beautiful beach, watch the whales from the cliff paths, go hiking in the mountains or explore the village shops.
